A model authenticating a vintage “cigarette girl”, donning a retro “Harley Davidson” dress, greeted guests at the end of a lengthy fogged-road entry, fashioned from a wide length of black carpet, custom painted with white dash-lines replicating road pavement. Upon arriving at this designated destination, the hallucination-like striking figure of the vintage cigarette girl enveloped in fog, welcomed guests with custom branded muslin bags showcasing a hand-rendered “tattoo-artistry-brand” displaying a heart with the guest-of-honor’s name. Contents of the bag revealed a pair of shades, cigarette gum to be rolled in one’s sleeve, and assorted flash tattoos.
Guests hit the road embarking on a journey that showcased apropos genuine “50 mph”, “Stop”, “Yield”, Wrong Way”, and “U-Turn”, road signs. A museum-worthy display of the guest-of-honor’s motorcycle collection further emphasized the thematic design aesthetic via staged vignettes set before the backdrop of a large screen revealing a slide-show of the momentous road trip. The impressive bike collection included:
“Ducati MH900E”, Italy / “Buell Blast”, USA / Kawasaki Ninja 636”, Japan / “Harley Davidson Streetrod”, USA / and the “Aprilia SXV 550”, Italy, to name a few. Custom metal signs fabricated from metal posts displaying steel plates embellished with burlap mats and burned-edge boards, were posted alongside each bike featured in the collection, denoting detailed profile information about the bike, ie: brand, country of origin, model, weight, speed, mileage, and ride history.
Event design details wove chain-link fencing, metal black and orange “Harley” fuel drums, diamond plate trunks, vintage mannequins displaying black leather “Harley Davidson” jackets, “Harley” riding attire, custom helmets, t-shirts, boots, and accessories… into the innovative biker vignettes. Guest tables were embellished with iridescent black and silver cloths, custom diamond plate centerpieces showcasing biker’s helmets, large chain napkin wraps, and tabletop displays of books and photographs related to motorcycle memorabilia.
“Biker’s Buffet Bars” were strategically staged for food service, with chain-link fencing and brick backdrops, draped in raw burlap cloths with barbed wire accents and silver diamond plate embellishments. Staff wore “Harley” attire, dark shades, biker’s boots, and leather biker’s gloves. Woven wire baskets, lined with custom-branded-logo burlap liners and stamped waxed paper served as the distinctive “plates” for a southern barbecue inspired menu. The custom cake replicated a cherished signed Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar on display at the event, owned by the guest-of-honor. A custom bar replete with weathered tin roof, haphazardly-hung wall displays detailing antique license plates, rusted hubcaps, and a collection of guardian biker’s bells, was constructed of aged-barnwood siding and vintage beam posts. A signature libations menu, paying homage to the theme, offered up custom concoctions such as “Buell Blast Bacardis”, “Side-Cars”, “Kawasaki Kamikazes”, and “Cold Shot” (in honor of Vaughan), in conjunction with a custom craft beer menu.
Custom mixed Stevie Ray Vaughan CD’s were presented to each guest as the memorable event keepsake.
